Gold Crowns

There are many reasons for JW Dental's crown and bridge lab to offer gold crowns as an alternative to porcelain.

For example, gold is both stronger and longer lasting - making it less liable to chipping than porcelain. It's easier to work with too, which means we can be more precise when we use it - ensuring a perfect fit. Fitting a gold crown is also simpler and less intrusive than adding alternative types of crown, so we can help preserve more of the natural tooth tissue.

Gold is the ideal material when the cosmetic appearance is not an issue (e.g. molars). But for those teeth where a more natural look is important, we recommend porcelain crowns or ceramic crowns.
